Job Summary:
To provide child, adolescent, or adult patient supervision in a
treatment or educational setting. To assist in the maintenance of a
safe, secure environment that enhances treatment and/or educational
effectiveness. To perform job duties in accordance with the medical
center's purpose
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology or related field or a
minimum of sixty (60) hours completed toward degree plus one (1)
year of patient care related experience such as Nurse Aide or Psych
Tech.
Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required: N/A
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques. Knowledge of patient
care charts and histories. Skill in preparing and maintaining
patient records.
Verbal and written communications skills.
Interpersonal skills to interact with mental health professionals,
patients, and family members.
Ability to provide therapeutic patient care to mentally,
emotionally, and/or developmentally disabled individuals.

Physical and Environmental Demands
Requires frequent exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical
environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold,
frequent exposure to bio-hazardous conditions such as risk of
radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne
particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate
attention to safety considerations, occasional activities subject
to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature,
frequent work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and
quality. (occasional-up to 20%, frequent-from 21% to 50%,
constant-51% or more)
