What You Will Do:
The role of state and territorial health officials has never in our
history required such diverse expertise. From sophisticated and
advance understanding of infectious disease, contact tracing, and
immunization distribution and registry to taking center stage on
data modernization and climate change reform.
Guidehouse is seeking an innovative leader to serve as the Director
of State Public Health. This leader will be tasked in developing
relationships with State Health Organizations, addressing their
needs and supporting efforts to build a more resilient public
health infrastructure. In doing so, this individual will also be
tasked with expanding our presence in state and county public
health agencies.
Guidehouse as the second largest healthcare consulting firm has
expansive reach across the continuum of healthcare working with
most federal health and human services agencies. This position
would align to our state health team which has long-standing impact
working in Medicaid, Aging and Disabilities, and Mental Health
agencies in practically every state.
The Director would be motivated to grow our presence in these
public health spaces bridging our expertise and program knowledge
from key programs sponsored by CDC, HRSA, and SAHMSA and others
that are then administered at the local level.
This person will function as an account executive to bridge client
relations and technical delivery on projects with emphasis on
public health at the state and local level. The position provides
an extraordinary opportunity for a highly motivated individual
interested in promoting innovation in key public health focus areas
including, HIV/AIDs program, disease surveillance, data
modernization, immunization adherence, maternal and child health,
public health workforce development, health equity and
environmental sustainability.
Generating and growing our public health portfolio in the state and
county markets
Client relations and directing client consulting deliverables for
assigned accounts
Leads client and Guidehouse teams to develop, implement and monitor
various public health agendas, strategies, and improve data
collection use and coordination across programs.
Partners with states to tackle key public health priorities and
promote health improvement---Leverages deep industry and strategy
expertise to create a compelling case for change for State
Agencies
Responsible for developing and building strong client
relationships/management with executive/state decision makers
What You Need:
Bachelors Degree from accredited university, MPH Preferred
10+ years' experience in state healthcare programs
Demonstrated results in driving measurable transformation to
Medicaid programs that exceed expectations
Clear innovator that is able to compliantly structure Medicaid
programs and Operations in a way that influences decisions with the
highest level of state HHS leaders and their direct reports.
Demonstrated data management skills, and familiarity with diverse
analytical methodologies.
Strong candidates will be forward-thinking and will have
demonstrated they are capable and have been accountable in leading
multiple client engagements simultaneously to timeline, scope and
budget.
Develop marketing materials, white papers, and presentations for
delivery to senior level managers and conference attendees. As well
as developing and presenting briefs to non-technical audiences and
clients
Experience in multi-workstream project management (managing
timeline, scope and budget) inclusive of client expectations and
risk mitigation
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs
What Would Be Nice To Have:
Masters or Advanced Degree from accredited college
Serving as a prior state director of a HHS program
Ability to hit the ground running with limited retainers or
conflicts
2 -3 years experience in driving sales north of $5M annually
Experience writing white papers, or preparation of responses to
RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, SOWs
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Executive Consulting Experience at the State Director and
leadership level
The annual salary range for this position is
$123,700.00-$247,400.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide
range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets,
experience and training, security clearances, licensure and
certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
