Hartzell at (304) 625-2657 or Job Summary Position: Photographer, GS-10/11 Division: Jackson Field Office Location: Jackson, MS Working Hours: This position requires periodic modification of regular working hours to accommodate criminal and/or investigative operation. Salary: GS-10 $56,647.00-$73,637.00 GS-11 $62,236.00-$80,912.00 Full Performance level: GS-12 Number of Positions Available: 1 Duration: Full Time/Permanent Additional selections may be made from this announcement to fill positions within the same division when the position includes substantially the same duties, responsibilities, and qualifications. PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO CANDIDATES WITH A WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF PHOTOGRAPHIC RELATED SOFTWARE SUCH AS ADOBE CREATIVE SUITE OR HAS PRODUCED PRODUCTS UTILIZING PHOTOGRAPHIC RELATED SOFTWARE. Key Requirements * Must be a U.S. citizen * Must be able to obtain a Top Secret-SCI clearance * Some travel may travel may be required * Driver's License: Applicants must possess a valid driver's license for the state of residence if selected for the position. Physical Demands : Work may involve climbing, carrying of heavy equipment, stooping, crouching, crawling, and kneeling as required to achieve the desired picture. Working Conditions : * Must be able and willing to work effectively under extreme conditions such as hot and cold temperatures, confined areas, and high places. Work may often be under conditions which are potentially dangerous. * Must be willing to testify in a court of law * Must be willing to view violent crime scenes * Must be willing to work lengthy shifts without breaks * Must be willing to work odd-hour shifts and holidays * Must be willing to conduct aerial photography Travel : Some travel to other field divisions in support of ongoing investigations may be required. Selectee may be required to perform collateral duties in support of the operations and functions of the field office as needed. This position is designated as "emergency." As an "emergency" employee, you may be expected to report to work during periods of adverse weather conditions or other types of emergency situations when it is announced that an "unscheduled leave policy" is in effect or that federal agencies are closed in your immediate vicinity. Major Duties * Performs a complex range of criminal and investigative photography involving the most complex surveillance, crime scene, and aerial assignments . Provides expert testimony in a court of law concerning procedural and chain of custody issues . * Operates highly specialized and sophisticated camera equipment, some specifically developed and/or adapted for criminal and investigative photography, such as concealment and light amplification devices . * Captures and processes all types of images relating to criminal, investigative, and public relations matters . * Performs complex surveillance photography, wherein sophisticated equipment such as concealment and light amplification devices are used . * Performs initial forensic video analysis and image enhancement for the purpose of criminal and investigative missions. * Photographs evidentiary items where exposure to blood borne pathogens are detected, including hepatitis and HIV on evidence contaminated with blood or other bodily fluids . * Conducts onsite photographic surveys to determine the equipment necessary to complete the assignment and achieve desired results. * Utilizes Adobe Photoshop or other software to ready a digital image file for printing, which is time intensive, depending on the quality and number of images to be corrected . Uses a wide variety of software tools to enhance photographs to meet the particular need of the requestor. GS-10: Applicants must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS 9 grade level. Specialized Experience is: * Performed a variety of camera work to complete photography assignments * Used a variety of photography equipment * Maintained photography inventory * Provided technical advice regarding photography * Wrote communications to document items photographed GS-11: Applicants must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS 10 grade level. Specialized Experience is: All applicants must have one year of SE equivalent to the GS-10 level. SE is: * Performed photography work for law enforcement, involving complex assignments in a variety of situations * Performed photography work in an intelligence field using highly specialized cameras, which may have been adapted specifically for investigative or criminal photography * Performed crime scene and aerial photographic assignments How to Apply The following instructions outline our application process: Step 1: Click the "Start" button to begin an application.
