    Job Summary:
    To provide management and administration of business operations including financial planning and analysis. To plan, manage, coordinate and facilitate the pull through activity for hospital business decisions and contracts in the areas of responsibility. To maintain, formulate and recommend changes to business functions, capital procurements, and project management as it relates to business management processes..

    To oversee the approval and control of purchasing activities for assigned areas. To participate in the negotiation process for contracts and leases, make recommendations designed to reduce costs and improve quality, while ensuring compliance with State and Federal procurement law and guidelines, as well as UMMC policies.

    Education & Experience

    Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field with a minimum of (3) three years of related experience. Master's Degree preferred. Experience may not be substituted in lieu of educational requirements.

    Responsibilities:
    • Interacts with multiple stakeholders in strategic operations, monthly variance and performance enhancement analysis, budgeting operations, capital equipment budgeting, requesting, and procurement. Develop proformas as needed. Works closely with supply chain, contracts administration and other key departments.
    • In collaboration with supply chain procurement, liaises with internal and external constituencies in order to facilitate bids, request quotes, and proposals in compliance with UMMC policies and State procurement laws.
    • Ability to assess contract compliance and product/service quality.
    • Directs and coordinates the activities of personnel engaged in buying and distributing materials, equipment, machinery and supplies.
    • In collaboration with supply chain, and contracts management, plans, develops, recommends, negotiates, and administers complex transactions, purchasing agreements, and/or other proposals.
    • Confers with supply chain, accounts payable, financial services and other departments to identify and resolve procurement issues.
    • Works with supply chain procurement purchasing department, contracts management, departmental staff, accounts payable, and financial services to process purchase orders and audit payments.
    • Liaise with supply chain and vendors to ensure the accuracy, quality and cost-effectiveness of purchased goods and services.
