How You'll Make a Difference
You will drive implementation of relationship strategies, including
developing business rationale, and in conjunction with marketing
the positioning, messaging, and promotional activities to reach
program goals and audiences. Accelerating adoption of programs and
resources. Supporting the planning and execution of department-wide
projects as assigned to maximize delivery of value-driven academic
services and programs.
Essential Job Functions
Develop, plan and deliver organization academic outreach programs,
including:
Organization for the overall program, including planning, execution
and reporting to show impact, focused on increasing the engagement
with PMI, as well as its services and resources among project
management faculty and emerging professionals
Guide and review relevant PMI-generated or external market research
and incorporate into academic outreach planning; recommend
additional research as needed for full understanding of market
needs.
Relationship development with faculty, emerging professionals, and
chapters, with focus on developing relationships that support
preparation of a Program, Portfolio and Project Management
workforce to meets future staffing needs of employers.
Effective support of faculty related to project management
education & teaching, including identification and development of
relevant and engaging outreach topics and content.
Effective support of emerging project management professionals,
including identifying and creating appropriate content, products
and services that will support their career goals.
Effective support of PMI Chapters with tools and resources for
engaging project management faculty and students
Assure up-to-date web presence of academic outreach program,
providing relevant and timely information to stakeholders and
supporting successful outreach efforts worldwide.
Drive development and implementation of outreach plan including
developing business rationale, relationship strategies, expected
outcomes, KPI's and performance metrics, and in conjunction with
marketing the positioning, messaging, and promotional activities to
reach program goals and audiences.
Accelerate adoption of programs and resources related to faculty
and emerging professionals' needs established in planning
efforts.
Support the planning and execution of department-wide projects as
assigned to maximize delivery of value-driven academic services and
programs.
Lead, organize, promote the research programs including supporting
the content strategy for the evergreening of research product and
increase the accessibility for practitioners.
Lead the creation of dashboards for the purpose of trend analysis,
measuring impact of academic programs and activities, and to
support decision making.
Identify, assess, and implement applicable opportunities for
integration and partnership throughout the enterprise, with a focus
on integrating education and career development initiatives with
existing and relevant new markets, as well as providing value to
stakeholders who will benefit from project management tools and
resources created for academic markets.
Identify new and relevant project management topics that align with
higher education faculty needs, as well as related tools to improve
overall educational experience related to project management
aligned with PMI offerings and standards. Conduct assessment and
build business plans where applicable.
Enhance existing collaborative relationships with internal business
partners in support of established objectives and communicate
regularly with relevant stakeholders regarding academic programs
and outreach.
Conduct research and review, independently and in partnership with
global volunteer network and communities, to gather relevant data
to support the continuing Academic Programs census of academic
institutions supporting project management globally.
Conduct and/or review research to gather relevant data to inform
the development and implementation of resources to support the
career development goals of emerging project management
professionals
Research and identify new academic institutions or partners for
inclusion in the Academic Programs database and/or initiative.
Support efforts through continuous data gathering, including
research on academic institutions, data on current initiatives and
needs, and tracking of current status with PMI.
What You'll Bring to the Role
Master's degree in management, education, organizational behavior,
or related business discipline. Doctorate degree preferred.
5 or more years' experience working in an academic setting in an
administration or program leadership capacity. Teaching experience
in a college or university setting also valuable.
Demonstrated extensive knowledge of academic culture in higher
education setting. Able to think critically and strategically about
academic programs and services, including the ability to
successfully engage and support faculty and students and apply
creative solutions appropriately.
Not-for-profit organization and global expertise beneficial.
Knowledge of project management a plus.
Proven successful experience in multi-cultural or multi-lingual
environments; international experience a plus and multiple
languages desirable.
Must be able to work effectively in a team and drive results across
diverse organization functional areas.
Strong strategic thinker with analytical, communication, marketing,
and customer focus skills.
Must have ability to develop and execute detailed plans, collect
and interpret large quantities of data, and prepare concise
summaries of findings.
Excellent multi-tasking and time management skill sets
required.
