The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change**Your Responsibilities**As a remote-based **Senior Java Software Engineer** for **John Deere's Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG) (https://bit.ly/JohnDeere\_ISG\_Careers)** , you will be an integral member of a team of developers and testers who are challenged with designing and developing, testing, and integrating applications of high complexity.You will also be challenged with utilizing your knowledge of backend systems and Agile development techniques to autonomously deliver software solutions quickly and effectively. Your work will be instrumental in shaping the future of agriculture and will directly impact how we empower our customers to achieve their goals and become more productive.You will also:+ Define and refine features in preparation for grooming with the team+ Provide technical guidance and coaching to more junior engineers within and outside your team+ Maintain high-quality coding standards, patterns, and approaches through hands-on coding and delivery+ Oversee activities related to Test Automation, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Deployment+ Collaborate with other software development teams and engineers on everything related to new technologies, technical thought leadership, alignment, and delivery**VISA Sponsorship is available for this position****What Skills You Need**+ 4 or more years of experience in designing and developing complex Java applications+ 3 or more years of expertise building reliable backend systems that are low-latency & high volume, distributed, and scalable+ Roughly 2 or more years of experience in contributing to architecture and design of new and current systems+ 3 or more years of expertise working on products being developed on AWS, Azure, and/or GCP+ Strong knowledge of TDD, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery, and Agile methodologies+ Familiarity with and comfortability to provide technical leadership to mid-sized teams**What Makes You Stand Out**+ Expertise in building data products and APIs to support enterprise data processing pipeline enhancements+ AWS Certification or 3 years of equivalent AWS experience+ Understanding of Agriculture Domain or previous experience with Precision Ag technologies+ Strong knowledge of functional programming languages such as Scala, Haskell, Erlang, and Elixir and related frameworks**Education**Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:+ Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience in a related career field**What You'll Get**At John Deere, you are empowered to create a career that will take you to where you want to go while working in an inclusive team environment.
