Job Description:

UX at Udemy
Udemy's UX team is a close-knit bunch that enjoys problem-solving and collaboration, and we share a serious commitment to delivering the best possible learning and teaching experiences. Udemy's culture encourages innovation, creativity, passion, and teamwork. We all work side-by-side with designers, researchers, product managers, and business stakeholders to collaboratively build world-class product experiences across all screens and devices for our diverse, global community. Our design culture supports a strong customer-first mentality, professional growth, and setting ambitious goals for our work - and we celebrate hitting our goals together!
About this role
As a founding member of Udemy's Content Design team, you'll be empowered to build key partnerships across our product team and establish best practices for using written content to enhance our product experience. Initially you'll focus with teams dedicated to our global learner experience, building engaging subscription products that help learners achieve their professional goals at home and at work. You will ensure our products are clear, concise, and supportive to our global students, instructors, and business partners. You will work regularly with other writers at Udemy to infuse our products with Udemy's brand and ensure close alignment with Product Marketing, building and maintaining a cohesive voice throughout the Udemy experience.
Here's what you will do
Use copy and content design to draw learners into the Udemy experience, set expectations, and remove barriers and cognitive roadblocks.
Work closely with the product and UX teams to develop customer centric positioning and narratives throughout the product development process.
Write clear and concise content across multiple touch points (such as product names, navigational elements, micro-copy, emails, and notifications).
Help apply and maintain consistent voice and tone throughout Udemy's learner experiences.

Ensure voice and content consistency with marketing, brand, content marketing, and customer support.

Identify opportunities for impactful A/B copy tests and participate in user interviews.
Be a crucial part of cross-functional teams with designers, user researchers, engineers, product managers, and marketing team members.
Develop content frameworks and best practices to help support designers and product managers in creating effective written content for their projects.
We're excited to have you because you have
5+ years of writing experience - ideally including global audiences
Experience as a content designer, content strategist, or UX writer - ideally at a consumer tech company

Proven ability to work successfully with product design, brand, and product management partners

Portfolio showcasing excellent writing and editing skills
Ability to partner with multiple teams on multiple projects simultaneously
Eagerness to join a UX team that is excited to change lives around the world through learning!
We're excited to say that this is a fully remote role with eligibility to work anywhere in the United States. While you will get together with your team on a semi-regular basis (monthly or quarterly, depending on the team), we want you to thrive wherever you work best!
We understand that not everyone will match the above qualifications 100%. If your background isn't perfectly aligned but you feel you would be a great addition to the team, we'd love to hear from you.
