Job Description:
OverviewThe purpose of this job is to develop and design
dynamic, high quality on-line training courses and materials
through collaboration with subject matter experts and/or corporate
training professionals.
- This position can be filled at a eLearning Designer I or
eLearning Designer II based on experience.Responsibilities
- Use appropriate course authoring tools to create instructional
material such as online courses, guides, handouts, worksheets, or
manuals to optimize learning. And do the following:
- Manipulate and edit digital imagery, video and sound
- Create images and animations and develop graphics that identify
a concept or convey a message
- Develop online assessment instruments
- Edit and review existing eLearning solutions to keep them
current and relevant
- Maintain current knowledge of latest industry tools and
processes to ensure training is innovative, engaging, and on the
cutting edge of training technology.
- Collaborating with the team in the analysis of user needs,
tasks, learning context, and user experience leading to the
development of a final product.
- Mentor team members on eLearning design, reviewing work and
occasionally facilitating staff development on current and emerging
eLearning design and development trends and methods.
- Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications
- Knowledge and application of adult learning theory and
instructional design
- Knowledge of virtual classroom training methodologies
- Knowledge and skills on the technical tools and platforms
required to achieve the delivery of engaging and media-rich online
learning content and of trends in the use and effectiveness of
educational technology and learning; skilled in the efficient use
of common instructional authoring tools, especially Articulate
Storyline and the Articulate 360 suite.
- Knowledge of presentation and facilitation process,
preferred
- Knowledge of graphic design, preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
proofreading; and ability to create and adapt course materials for
the intended audience
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well independently in a remote environment and
within a team setting
- Flexible enough to thrive in a continually changing
environment
- Demonstrated project management skills with ability to manage
multiple projects, prioritize, and organize to meet target dates
for implementation
- Possess creativity and the ability to think outside the
box
- Possess attention to detail and an eye for contemporary
design
- Must be proficient with software applications and equipment
specific to instructional design (i.e., authoring software
(preferred Articulate, Adobe Captivate, PowToon), web-based meeting
software, video conferencing equipment, video/audio
recording/editing software).
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design or equivalent prior
work related experience required.
- Two (2) or more years of experience in E-learning design
preferred.
- General knowledge of ILMS, SCORM, AICC, and web-based solutions
(i.e., WebEx, Adobe Connect) strongly preferred
- Additional training certifications preferred
- Experience with HTML preferred
- Experience in graphic design, preferred
