This is clerical level work involving responsibility for operating alphanumeric data entry equipment. Under the direction of the Management Information Officer, the incumbent is responsible for data entry of childrens enrollment applications into the Child Outcome Planning and Assessment (COPA) system, keeping a record of the applications and providing assistance to the Man agement Information Officer as required. Incumbent must be computer literate and familiar with various data entry formats. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Management Information Officer.


Bachelors Degree in Computer Technology or related field and two (2) years of data entry experience, experience using computers, copiers and other office machines, and be able to type 40 correct words per minute using WordPerfect or Microsoft Word. Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Special Requirements
Must possess the technical ability sufficient to work with COPA database, analytical tools, and applicable software. Must pass Criminal Background and Child Abuse Central Registry checks. Must meet state health requirements.

Job Requirements:
  • Receives enrollment data and assists with compiling the Management Information content of the Administrative Services Work Plan.
  • Assists with providing relevant enrollment and other Head Start information in support of integrating component services.
  • Participates in Team Planning Sessions.
  • Assists with the implementation of program schedules, record keeping and reporting systems.
  • Maintains a comprehensive record keeping system of children enrolled in the Head Start Program.
  • Assists with collecting records to ensure timely delivery and compliance with program requirements.
  • To assist in providing statistics, information and reports for the Head Start Management Team and Administration to inform strategic decisions.
  • Assists with assembling and distributing reports and materials for the Management Information Officer.
  • Assist in building comprehensive data lists to contact parents through the school reach notification systems.
  • To present monthly reports to HCHRA departments, Policy Councils and Board of Directors in the absence of the Management Information Officer.
  • To provide support and assist in the training of information users in order to achieve the best use and quality of information within the Departments.
