Overview
DATABASE ANALYST PROGRAMMER (ERDC):
Bowhead seeks a Database Analyst Programmer to support the Engineering Research and Development Center (ERDC) contract located in Vicksburg, MS. The Database Analyst Programmer will support a data warehouse environment which includes data design, database architecture, metadata and repository creation.
Responsibilities
--- Reviews data loaded into the data warehouse for accuracy.
--- Responsible for the development, maintenance, and support of complex enterprise data warehouse system and corresponding data marts.
--- Troubleshoots and tunes complex data warehouse applications. Conducts research into new data warehouse applications and determines viability for adoption.
--- Establishes development standards, evaluates existing subject areas stored in the data warehouse and incorporates existing subject areas into an enterprise model. --- Creates new or enhanced components of the data warehouse.
--- Responsible for keeping the ERDC Data Warehouse updated and to create reports for users and customers to view the data to track and manage funds by projects. Users will request new reports, changes, and report errors to the Resource Management (RM) office through the ERDC Data Warehouse helpdesk.
--- Responsible for correcting the error or complete the request in a development environment. Once completed, will notify RM through email that the changes are ready to be validated on development. Once RM validates the changes, the changes are moved to the production environment.
--- Responsible for troubleshooting the ERDC Data Warehouse to determine if it is an error in the data in the Oracle database or if it is an application error in WebFOCUS, our reporting software. If the error is in the database, TOAD will be used to modify the package or procedure used to gather the data. If the error is in the report, Tomcat and WebFOCUS logs on our UNIX application server will be used to track the error in the application software.
--- May provide work leadership for lower level employees.
Qualifications



  • BA/S in Computer Science or related field and an additional three to five (3-5) years of professional experience is highly preferred.


  • A CompTIA Security+ certificate may be required prior to starting this position


  • Experince with TOAD and Power BI experience


  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint


  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts


  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team


    Physical Demands:
    --- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
    --- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
    --- Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically
    SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Public Trust level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Public Trust clearance at this location.
