Job Description Are you an experienced pathologist with strong leadership skills and a passion for serving our nation's veterans? The G. V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi, is seeking a dynamic and accomplished Chief for our Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service. The major duties of a Physician - Chief will include but are not limited to: - Responsible for all clinical and administrative functions of the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine service. - Exercises administrative, programmatic, clinical, anatomical and academic oversight of pathology and laboratory programs to ensure delivery of quality services. - Serves as the role model (clinical administrator) by providing and monitoring pathology and laboratory care. - Integrates the pathology and laboratory services into primary functions of the organization. - Serves as the principle spokesperson and advocate for pathology and laboratory programs within the VA Medical Center. - Ensures communication and coordination between the Medical Center laboratory services and the clinical/patient care services. - Board Certified or Board Eligible in a related specialty - Anatomic Pathology.
