Registered Nurse (RN) | Med/Surg / Telemetry Location: Jackson, MS Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,930 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/16/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Jackson, Mississippi, 39216! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med/Telemetry Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: Experience in Level 1 trauma or large hospital settings. Description: 50-mile radius rule applies for travelers. Local candidates are accepted. Flu vaccine is required. Only medical exemptions are allowed with documented evidence of a past severe reaction to the vaccine. Fingerprint requirement must allow 10 days for processing. Remote processing is available, but in-person can be done the week prior to the start date. Travelers must work at least 3 of the following 6 dates: Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day. Candidates will be considered with or without chemotherapy certification. Experience with chemotherapy is preferred. Solid experience as a Registered Nurse is required, with at least one year in the initial role. One or more years of experience in a Level 1 trauma or very large hospital is required. Travel experience with extensions is preferred. Experience with EPIC charting is required. The unit has 32 beds with typical nurse-patient ratios of 1:5 up to 1:6. Ratios are adjusted for higher acuity patients. Required skills include comfort with lines, chest tubes, and hem/onc experience. Experience in titrating drips such as heparin and potential cardiac orders is necessary. All patients are monitored, with access to central monitoring stations for communication with RNs. The charge nurse may take light patient assignments but will take full loads if necessary. Nurse managers are on-site during weekdays, and a supervisor is available on weekends. All staff may float between medical-surgical units, with core staff managing higher acuity cases. CPAP and BiPAP equipment are available at night, and respiratory therapy is available for support. Shifts are 12 hours, either from 7 AM to 7 PM or 7 PM to 7 AM. Travelers are expected to fill scheduling gaps, but block scheduling may be accommodated. Weekend requirements are typically every other weekend or two weekends per month. Holiday requirements rotate among staff. There is no mandatory call or standby. Scrubs must be solid colors and professional in appearance. Initial orientation includes paperwork, system logins, and unit familiarization. Cancellation policy details are not listed.
