Job Description:
Job Description Candidate must possess MD/DO from an accredited
institution, have completed residency training to board
certification, and possess an active, current, unrestricted license
in any U.S. State or territory. Duties of the position include, but
are not limited to: - Providing quality patient care to inpatient
and outpatient Veterans- Approved clinical privileges in the areas
of expertise as related to the Emergency Department (ED) and in all
areas required to carry out the assignment duties and/or
responsibilities - Demonstrate sound decision-making skills, both
clinical and administrative - Facilitate the delivery of
appropriate patient care in collaboration with other health
professionals, staff, and management - Participates in the peer
review process when requested. - Serve as a role model in
assessing/evaluating patient status and identifying priority needs
for care - Participates in multidisciplinary activities involving
the patients treatment plan and discharge plans to include
evaluating patient care programs. - Exhibits leadership in
initiating changes in patient care programs based on current
concepts and finding from research and studies. Keeps informed of
developments in the management and treatment of diseases/illness
through continuing medical education, both formal and informal -
Successfully integrates patient care activities on Medical Services
and other patient care programs at the medical center and in the
community such as Social Work, Prosthetics, Home Based Health Care
(HBHC), and private nursing homes - Consistently demonstrates
expertise in diagnosing and treating seriously ill,
multisymptomatic patients when clinical assignments so dictate -
Documents and rates administrative and clinical information in a
thorough and accurate manner. - Completing all medical record
documentation in CPRS within prescribed timeframes - Includes
patient/family/significant other/health care provider in
establishing realistic, measurable goals related to health
education and treatment plan and in planning care on a continuum;
assists staff in the process of mutual goal setting - Utilizes
problem solving methodologies to resolve problems that impact on
patient care or staff performance - Plans implements, and evaluates
care based on age specific requirements of the patient - Makes
decisions based on current professional standards and evidence
based practice guidelines by utilizing advanced clinical judgement
and physical assessment skills - Identifies acute/non-acute/chronic
health problems. Highlights of this opportunity: 1. Potential
starting base salary range: $325,000-$400,000 2. Daily schedule:
Tour of duty will vary and will be determined upon selection 3.
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days per year (26 days of annual leave, 13
days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays, and possible 5 days
