Care – Level 1 Trauma Center HumanEdge Health is seeking an
experienced travel Med/Surg RN for Hematology/Oncology at a
high-acuity acute care facility in Jackson, MS. This is a trauma
level 1 hospital with complex med/surg and oncology patient
populations. Position Overview: Provide skilled nursing care to
adult Med/Surg patients, including hem/onc and post-surgical
patients Administer medications, IV therapy, chemo (with manager
guidance), titratable drips, and manage lines/chest tubes
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient
outcomes Utilize Epic EMR for documentation and patient care
communication Maintain compliance with hospital, state, and federal
nursing standards Key Responsibilities: Monitor and manage patients
on telemetry; use central monitoring systems Respond to acute
patient changes and escalate as appropriate Assist in chemo
administration under manager supervision (no ONC certification
required) Participate in unit orientation and precepted shifts
(first day paperwork and system logins; 2 additional shifts with
preceptor) Float within Med/Surg units as needed, based on skillset
and patient acuity Communicate effectively with charge nurses,
house supervisors, and RT staff Unit/Patient Details: Beds: 32
Typical RN:Patient Ratio: 1:5 (up to 1:6, adjusted for acuity)
Common Diagnoses: Hematology/oncology, post-surgical, high-acuity
Med/Surg, chemo patients Telemetry: Central monitors in all units;
RNs monitor strips and respond accordingly Respiratory Support:
CPAP/BiPAP; High Flow available on select units with RT support
Requirements: Required: 2 years Med/Surg RN experience , Level 1
trauma experience required BLS (AHA) Epic EMR proficiency Comfort
with high-acuity patients, lines, chest tubes, and chemo
administration (training provided) Preferred: Hem/Onc experience
Experience in larger facilities with surgical/high-acuity patients
Scheduling Notes: 12-hour day shifts, 7a–7p or 7p–7a Travelers
expected to fill schedule gaps; block scheduling accommodated when
possible Every other weekend standard; holiday rotation with staff
Floating within Med/Surg units based on skillset Contact: HumanEdge
