Clinical Director - Position Overview
- The CARES Center Clinical Director works with CARES Center and
Day School staff to plan, organize and implement the clinical
programming to provide high fidelity and evidence based therapeutic
services to youth in care and their families through a highly
structured clinical model.
- The CARES CENTER Clinical Director is responsible for the
development and implementation of a clinical model which utilizes
best practices and organization wide initiatives that are driven by
data and focused on continuous quality improvement.
- The clinical director will oversee program policies and
procedures and assure adherence to all of these within supervision
scope in accordance with quality care and with all federal, state,
and local laws and organization rules and regulations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan, manage and supervise clinical services within the CARES
Center and School Day in accordance with organization, local, state
and federal guidelines, practices and objectives.
- Ensure high fidelity to the best practice clinical models
PracticeWise, AIM, Risking Connections, and any other models
instituted by the organization or program.
- Assist in maintaining appropriate program accreditation,
certification, and licensure.
- Implement bylaws, plans and procedures of program as
directed.
- Implement, as needed, and assist in reviewing, annually,
policies and procedures assuring the effective operation of the
CARES Center treatment programs.
- Ensure the integrity of clinical services within the CARES
Center treatment program.
- Assure integrity of clinical model and practice for the
program.
- Assure integrity of youth records and personal data.
- Conduct monthly audits of charts to ensure proper
documentation.
- Establish and maintain procedures regarding youth
confidentiality.
- Plan and implement the staff development programs for clinical
staff.
- Assure that each youth is receiving appropriate care through
ongoing monthly case reviews by Child and Family Team
meetings.
- Oversee the Treatment Planning and Discharge planning process
for each youth as needed.
- Provide ancillary clinical support services for youth as
needed.
- Inform staff and/or other program personnel of youth, and
family/guardian concerns when appropriate.
- Review program design and make recommendations for
modifications as necessary.
- Provide clinical consultation and technical assistance to
program staff.
- Data collection and quality improvement
- Collaborate with Clinical Quality Specialist and Director of
Quality and Evaluation as scheduled.
- Designs opportunities for data collection to gather key
performance indicators on a weekly basis.
- Disseminates data collected to the Quality management team,
clinical team, and other staff as needed to drive understanding and
progress.
- Implements continuous quality improvement personally and
through team members on a monthly basis.
- Reports quality improvement projects to program director and
quality management team.
- Provide clinical supervision and case consultation to clinical
staff and others as needed.
- Meet with clinical team for group supervision, weekly.
- Meet with clinical therapists for one-on-one supervision,
biweekly.
- Participate in clinical community meetings when
scheduled.
- Participate in Child and Family Team Meetings
regularly.
- Prepare plans, procedures and reports as required by the Board
of Directors, Senior Management, and Program Director.
- Establish annual and long range plans within established
guidelines, including but not limited to preparing plans and
reports.
- Serve in primary leadership role for the CARES Center to assure
successful implementation of the Organization's mission, philosophy
and services.
- Ensures communications among Clinical Team, Milieu Team,
Education Team, and Program Director on a regular basis to discuss
pertinent issues relative to their programs/services.
- Meets with the administrative and programmatic teams as
scheduled.
- Ensures current operations are in line with best practice
standards.
- Attend monthly CARES Center leadership meetings to communicate
current issues and establish resolutions.
- Carries out all administrative duties, which include:
- Meet with the program staff as needed to coordinate clinical
services and care for families and children served.
- Inform staff and/or other program personnel of concerns
expressed by individuals served and/or their
guardian/family.
- Identify and develop clinical personnel in consultation with
the Program Director and Sr. Director of Solutions, as
needed.
- Take administrative on call as scheduled.
- Active participant on the CARES Leadership team.
- Assist with quality improvement initiatives and programmatic
changes
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Master's degree in Social Work or related
behavioral health field, Masters of Science in Nursing or a
Doctoral degree in Psychology.
- Licensed Psychologist in Mississippi preferred or must be a
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Psychiatric Mental
Health Nurse Practitioner with a minimum of 5 years clinical
experience working with youth in a mental health setting
required.
- Must have experience with continuous quality improvement
projects and clinical model development and demonstrate these prior
to hire.
- Experience with regulatory and accreditation bodies such as
Division of Medicaid and Joint Commission required
