**Compensation Overview**
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a
nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries
for this role across the country. The actual salary for this
position will be determined by a number of factors, including the
scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education,
training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other
conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation
and benefits program, employees are also eligible for
performance-based cash incentive awards.

$139,600.00 - $230,300.00

**What Is the Opportunity?**
Travelers is seeking a Sr. Dir, Technical Agile Coach to join our
organization to help grow and transform our Agile landscape. The
Technical Agile Coach will guide multiple teams on software
craftsmanship as well as Agile principles and practices. They
provide hands-on training and mentoring, helping the teams develop
valuable skills that lead toward positive outcomes.
The Technical Agile Coach will teach, mentor, and advise across the
organization and between team boundaries on software engineering
practices, supporting teams in building skills and techniques to
help them improve their work. They apply Lean and Agile processes,
principles and practices across levels and lines of business and
uses techniques that increase collaboration, improve flow,
predictability, transparency, improve code quality, and promote a
culture of experimentation and innovation at Travelers.
**What Will You Do?**
+ As a servant leader and change agent, coach individuals and teams
across a large or complex business area to adopt Agile principles,
values and practices while role modeling Travelers' leadership
behaviors.
+ Advance the use of Agile development practices through a hands-on
teaching approach to equip teams with Agile, product, DevOps, and
advanced software development skills that support strategic
outcomes
+ Guide and mentor teams to develop software craftsmanship and
apply effective software engineering practices to enable agility;
introducing and facilitating approaches and practices
+ Run workshops and training on Agile and software engineering
topics, leveraging tool kits and internally developed content
+ Actively raise observed issues and remove impediments; resolve
conflicts within and across teams. Anticipate challenges, identify
risks, and recommend mitigations and solutions.
+ Continuously assess the Agile maturity and engineering practices
of teams and individuals at all levels, educating and mentoring to
address gaps.
+ Understand and support implementation of metrics to optimize
delivery of KPIs and key results through the assessment of
responsiveness, quality, productivity, and customer and business
value.
+ Use coaching techniques that increase collaboration,
transparency, and promote a culture of experimentation and
innovation.
+ Contribute to internal and external Agile communities to stay
abreast of challenges, leading practices, and emerging trends;
utilize learnings in furthering the effective use of Agile and
advanced software engineering practices at Travelers.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
**What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?**
Bachelor's degree preferred (Computer Science)
+ 5 years of Agile experience preferred
+ 5 years of software development experience preferred
+ 3 years of experience as a Technical Agile Coach preferred
+ 3 years of experience championing organizational change
initiatives preferred
+ 4 years of experience implementing Agile principles and practices
in different cultures and environments preferred
+ Agile Mindset: Embody Agile core values of openness, courage,
respect, focus, and commitment. Infuse Agile principles, practices
and methodologies to achieve team success.
+ Change Agent: Expert change leadership skills including the
ability to create an inclusive environment, manage conflict and
develop solutions to mitigate risk.
+ Coaching: Ability to utilize tailored coaching techniques to
inspire individuals and teams to perform at a higher level.
+ Influence: Ability to influence behaviors of leaders at all

**What is a Must Have?**
+ 3 years of professional experience in Agile software
development
+ 5 years of business and/or technology related experience
+ 2 years of experience as a coach
+ Deep knowledge in software development practices, including:
+ Extreme Programming (XP) experience
+ Knowledge of software design patterns and agile development
approaches
+ Experience with test automation tools and frameworks
+ Experience with clean coding practices and refactoring code
smells
+ DevOps experience
+ Good facilitation skills and the ability to present a topic in
front of a group of people
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills
