    Position Overview - Grant Management Specialist

    • Perform advanced accounting functions in the management of the organization's grant affairs.
    • Ensure company accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles.
    • Provide support to management and the overall operations of the LINK program. Accounting functions associated with general accounting and grant reporting functions are duties associated with this position.
    • The team member will be called to provide account analysis and reconciliation(s) and provide valuable support for federal, state, and other organization compliance and reporting.

      Job Responsibilities:

      • Responsible for the preparation of cash requests from grant funding agencies due on the 10th of each month, and ensuring compliance with grant award. Grant responsibilities will be assigned each year with the renewal of grant applications.
      • Responsible for preparation of grant reporting and submission of grant requests for reimbursement to include working through the payroll accountant/system to ensure that employee allocations are adequate and regular review of the status of grant monies drawn down and available to guarantee adequate usage of monies awarded.
      • Responsible for reconciliation of general ledger accounts and the related system(s) for those accounts as it relates to grant funding.
      • Responsible for routine reconciliation between Accounting software and grant reporting balances and reporting to Senior Management.
      • Assist with maintenance of the fixed asset system including processing of fixed asset additions, deletions and transfers and reconciling to appropriate systems and ledgers as related to grant reporting.
      • Assist with maintenance of Organization's 403(b) Retirement Plan as related to grant reporting.
      • Randomly audits payroll for time and attendance compliance and accuracy of coding for timesheets to grant reporting.
      • Responsible for Payroll accounting functions to include posting to general ledger, verifying employee allocations, and making adjustments as necessary.
      • Responsible for employee benefit tracking and accounting.
      • Reviews and audits travel expense reimbursements.
      • Regularly audits employee allocations as related to grant reporting.
      • Responsible for reconciliation of general ledger accounts and the related system(s) for those accounts
      • Assist in preparation of journal entries and monthly processes necessary for timely grant financial reporting.
      • Responsible for overall grant audits.
      • Assist in the areas of accounts payable and accounts receivable as assigned.
      • Works on special grant projects, if requested.
      • Responsible for demonstrating sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural/socioeconomic differences in the agency/program service population.
      • Other duties as assigned.

        Required Qualifications:

        • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (or related field) and two (2) years related experience.
        • Must possess solid analytical skills and ability to think strategically; have good judgment and a high level of initiative and independence.
        • Must have excellent communication skills, computer skills and strong knowledge of financial software.
        • Must be willing to use personal vehicle for agency travel when required.
