Our client is a forward-thinking wholesale distributor of energy,
lubrication, and chemical products located in eastern Washington,
Tri-Cities. The company is looking to hire a VP, Human Resources to
help achieve their mission to create a more sustainable supply
chain for the markets its serves.
The VP, Human Resources is a member of the Executive Committee,
reporting to the company's CEO. The VP of HR provides
executive-level leadership and guidance to HR operations,
responsible for identifying and implementing long-range strategic
talent management plans which support the company's strategic
vision. This vision includes a more inclusive, purposeful
organization capable of delivering more positive impact to team
members, customers, and shareholders. DUTIES &
RESPONSIBILITIES:
HR BUSINESS PARTNER -- Balance role of advisor to CEO with role of
advisor to board, particularly in matters of succession and
compensation -- Partner with business leaders to anticipate future
organizational needs and to implement proactive HR-related
initiatives which support the organization's strategic vision
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
-- Design, develop and execute leadership development programs and
ensure company leaders receive the development they need to drive
the business forward and to be successful in their current and
future roles -- Systematically evaluate leadership development
programs for continuous program improvement and achievement of
performance outcomes, including reporting results to senior
leadership -- Work collaboratively with the executive team to
develop an integrated training and development strategy that
develops Christensen's leaders and team members in support of the
current business strategy and long-term vision of the organization
TALENT MANAGEMENT
-- Partner with fellow members of Executive Committee to facilitate
the talent review process and succession planning -- Conduct talent
assessments for the organization's management population to
identify high potential individuals and to provide developmental
opportunities for career growth -- Identify, nurture, and grow
talent pipelines to support all levels of Christensen's workforce
needs -- Oversee the organization's Diversity, Inclusion and Equity
initiatives TEAM MEMBER ENGAGEMENT
-- Innovate in engagement and retention strategies -- Lead annual
team member engagement survey design, implementation, communication
and follow up -- Oversee team member recognition programs --
Oversee the on-boarding process including orientations to all new
hires ASSESSMENT AND COMPENSATION
-- Develop and implement structure, systems, and processes for the
Assess to Compensate process -- Design and implement team member
assessment processes which align with the organization's vision,
purpose, and values -- Institute compensation processes that
effectively balance team member retention, team member
satisfaction, and the organization's economic sustainability
Requirements -- Graduate level degree required in Organizational
Psychology, Organizational Leadership, or Human Resources or
equivalent.
-- Work experience within executive level Human Resources as a
CHRO, VP, Sr. Director or other HR titles -- Strategic thinking
skills to work with Executive Committee to set direction --
Cross-functional business understanding with P&L orientation --
Conceptual skills to shape the organization to meet tomorrow's
challenges -- Financial acumen to balance resources and understand
financial implications of recommendations -- Technological savvy to
drive efficiencies and to engage the workforce through innovations
and technology -- Legal literacy to help ensure a culture of
compliance and integrity -- Operational ability to ensure the
transactional aspects of HR are well executed
