Job Description:
Drax Group plc, a leader in the UK energy sector, is seeking a
skilled Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to join our
innovative team. This role focuses on maintaining and enhancing the
instrumentation and electrical systems critical to our power
generation facilities. The successful candidate will play a key
role in supporting Drax's mission to deliver a zero-carbon,
lower-cost energy future, ensuring that our operations adhere to
the highest standards of efficiency and safety. Perform routine and
emergency maintenance on electrical systems and instrumentation,
ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance. Install,
calibrate, test, and troubleshoot various instruments and
electrical equipment within the power generation plant. Work
closely with the engineering team to develop and implement
improvements and modifications to electrical systems to increase
reliability and efficiency. Provide technical support for project
design and implementation, including system upgrades and expansion
efforts. Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with
health and safety standards and regulations. Assist in the
development and implementation of maintenance schedules and
procedures. Train and mentor junior technicians and support staff.
Proficient in the use of electrical and instrumentation diagnostic
tools. Strong understanding of distributed control systems and
programmable logic controllers. Ability to read and interpret
electrical and instrumentation diagrams. Solid technical and
practical skills in handling standard industry equipment and tools.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Medical

Certified Instrumentation Technician (CIT) or Certified Control
Systems Technician (CCST) is preferred. Electrical license or
certification relevant to the region or country of employment.
