Job Description:
The Broadcast Engineer p erforms the repair, replacement,
modification, installation, removal, adjustment, and integration of
all RF and related equipment that is essential for the operation
for WJTV and WHLT.
Repair and maintain microwave transmitters and receivers.
Repair and maintain VHF high power transmitters.
Repair and maintain UHF high power transmitters.
Repair and maintain remote control equipment.
Maintains all broadcast technology and equipment for the
station.
Assists with installs and maintains the IT network, switches, data
backups, workstations and printers.
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements & Skills:
A Degree in electronics, military training, or trade school is
necessary but related experience will be evaluated.
Three years maintenance of audio, video, and RF experience
preferred.
Knowledge of gas & diesel powered AC generator, surge suppressers,
air conditioning systems, digital theory, microprocessors, computer
operations, as well as general electronics, theory and practices of
good television standards as well as a thorough knowledge of FCC
rules and regulations.
Must be competent in the use of electronic test equipment.
Possess or able to obtain a valid Mississippi driver's license.
Must be willing and physically capable of working in hot, cold,
wet, cramped, noisy, or dirty places.
