Counseling Services Position OverviewThe Staff Accountant performs
advanced accounting functions in the management of the
organization's business affairs. Ensures Organization accounting
procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles.The
Staff Accountant provides support to Accounts Payable, Accounts
Receivable, and Grant Administration.The team member will be called
to provide account analysis and reconciliation(s) and provide
valuable support for federal, state, and other organizational
compliance and reporting.The position may also assist management in
understanding its business and identifies future opportunities
through special projects.Job ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the
posting of daily cash receiptsResponsible for reconciliation of
general ledger accounts and the related system(s) for those
accountsAssist in preparation of journal entries and monthly
processes necessary for timely financial reportingResponsible for
assisting with accounts payable, grant reporting, internal controls
(implementing, monitoring, enhancing).Responsible for the
preparation of cash requests from various funding agencies due on
the 10th of each month, and ensuring compliance with grant award.
Grant responsibilities will be assigned each year with the renewal
of grant applicationsResponsible for preparation of grant reporting
and submission of grant requests for reimbursement to include
working through the payroll accountant/system to ensure that
employee allocations are adequate and regular review of the status
of grant monies drawn down and available to guarantee adequate
usage of monies awarded.Assist Director of Accounting with grant
audits and pulls together the needed documentation to verify
compliance with rules regarding all expenditures, purchases and
capital equipment records.Prepare or assist in providing
information for periodic reports to comply with grant
requirements.Assist in providing information for periodic reports
to comply with grant requirementsAssists Payroll Manager in
quarterly review of employee salary allocations to ensure grant
report accuracy.Responsible for routine reconciliation between
Accounting and Development software and assist Development
department staff with monitoring and reporting to Senior
ManagementAssist in the areas of accounts payable and accounts
receivable as assignedResponsible for demonstrating sensitivity and
responsiveness to cultural/socioeconomic differences in the
organization/program service populationOther duties
assignedRequired QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Accounting or
related field required.Must possess knowledge of general accounting
concepts, practices and procedures.Must have excellent
communications and computer skills.Must be willing to use personal
vehicle for organization business.Grant reporting experience
