- Job Title - Associate Vice President of Finance, Human Resources and Operations - Reports To - President and CEO FLSA - Exempt - Function - Manage and oversee the - Boulder Chamber -and - Boulder Chamber Foundation -Finance, Operations, and Human Resources related functions. This is a varied, exciting role that requires a strategic thinker, a detailed hands-on operator, an empathetic employee and team champion, and an exceptional leader. This position is an active and participative member of the leadership team, reporting to the President and CEO, and works in close partnership with the Operations Manager.

  • Participate as a key organizational leader identifying and addressing organizational goals and objectives, strategies and programs related to Boulder Chamber finance, operations and human resources.
  • Develop and manage all financial, human resources, operations, and budgeting activities for The Boulder Chamber and The Boulder Chamber Foundation.
  • Strategically manage and continually refine overall organizational processes and operations for The Boulder Chamber and The Boulder Chamber Foundation.
  • Working with our Professional Employer Organization (PEO) lead the organizational objectives related to all aspects of Human Resources including benefits, recruiting, employee relations, compliance, culture, compensation, performance management, and training and development. Responsibilities - -Financial Management
    • Maintain and oversee the day-to-day financial and accounting operations, ensuring appropriate reporting and systems are in place to maintain effective internal controls and proper disclosure and accountability for all financial activities.
    • Drive annual budget process and assure appropriate resources for program spending needs, monitoring revenue and expenditures to ensure compliance with fiscal policies and Board-approved budget.
    • Manage appropriate levels of Operational Cash and Reserves to ensure a sustainable financial base to achieve Boulder Chamber operational and strategic goals, as well to weather unexpected changes.
    • Oversee timely and effective Invoicing, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activities.
    • Maintain appropriate insurance related coverages.
    • Provide accurate, timely and well-communicated information to Finance and Investment Committee and Board.
    • Oversee the preparation and timely delivery of the annual audit and tax return, and other tax filings as appropriate.
    • Responsible for overall building management including capital expenditure and sustainability planning, and day to day maintenance needs. -
      Operational Management
      • Collaborate with executive and departmental leadership to define and maintain critical operations and processes across the organization to support day-to-day and long-term programs and objectives.
      • Implement, monitor, and improve as necessary technology and process solutions.
      • Engage with executive leadership in planning to achieve strategic goals for the Boulder Chamber and Boulder Chamber Foundation through operations objectives. -
        - Human Resources/People and Culture
        • Collaborate with executive leadership to define the organizations long-term mission and goals regarding people and culture.
        • Work in conjunction with PEO as the key internal HR liaison for payroll, compensation, benefits, and other human resource concerns and issues. This also includes ensuring compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, and other laws and requirements.
        • Manage 401k contributions and monitor overall program effectiveness in conjunction with external vendors.
        • Manage the daily administration of human resource services, including recruitment and selection, promotions, transfers, contract negotiation and administration, performance evaluation, training and development, in accordance with quality management principles and overall objectives of the organization.
        • Serve as a primary resource and champion for employee relations and team culture. -
          - Administration -
          • Contract and Grant - Oversee appropriate negotiation, review and due diligence of vendor, partner, building, lease, independent contractor, local, state federal or other contracts or grants, including maintenance of effective systems to monitor program, compliance and reporting requirements.
          • General - Provide planning and guidance for process, technology, and staff resource support for administrative needs across the organization. -
            *Other duties as assigned Education - Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources or related field preferred, but not required Experience - Experience in a leadership role in finance, accounting, and human resources preferred, but not required. Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software required. Skills and Abilities -
















            Preferred Financial Management - - -Provide overall fiscal stewardship, as well as hands on execution of budgeting, revenue and expense monitoring, accounting system processing, and reporting and compliance.

            Operational Management - - Apply best practice approaches and technological solutions to increase overall organizational efficiency and effectiveness, as well as ensuring that team members have support and resources needed to achieve objectives.

            Human Resource Management - - Manage, with a high level of approachability and empathy, employee related needs, benefits, processes, and resources to foster a thriving, diverse team culture that drives employee and organizational success.

            Project Management - - Manage -priorities, processes, contracts, timelines and task deliverables, in a highly organized method, across a variety of overlapping projects. Includes leadership for volunteer Finance Committee and working constructively, as a leader or participant, in other internal staff and volunteer teams.

            Communication - - Excellent ability to communicate with our internal and external customers and partners, including conveying complex financial matters in a digestible fashion for a diverse range of stakeholders, with a positive attitude and friendly demeanor. -

            Strategic Planning - - Participate as a member of executive leadership in annual three-year strategic planning process across the organization, as well as helping to develop and manage the annual budget in support of the plan of work.

            Must be able to interact well with others, and support Boulder Chamber's priorities around diversity and inclusivity; bilingual/ bicultural applicants encouraged. - -

            Technological Proficiency - - Knowledge of and comfort with technology including accounting platforms (QuickBooks a plus), human resources recruiting and performance evaluations systems, and office productivity tools (Microsoft Office Suite a plus).

            Negotiation - - Ability to evaluate contracts and negotiate with vendors for best outcomes. Working Conditions - This is a hybrid role, currently requiring 2-3 days in the office per week. -Future standards will be evaluated based on evolving business needs. Typical Physical Demands - Operate normal business office equipment.
